SUBMISSION OF COPY OF AADHAR CARD
RBI, vide press release dated October 21, 2017, has clarified that linkage of Aadhar number to bank account is mandatory under the Prevention of Money Laundering Second Amendment Rules, 2017.
Banks have been advised to provide the status of the linking of Aadhar number to bank accounts at the fortnightly interval w.e.f. November 15, 2017.
PML Act has been amended and in place of 6 OVDs now only two documents are required for opening an account
i) Aadhar & ii) PAN. No one will be allowed to operate the account without the said two documents. If someone has applied for the Aadhar or PAN he should submit the receipt on the basis of which he can operate the account for 6 months with declaration that he will deposit the documents within six months.
